Life and society are a complex web of ideas, interactions, cultures, and people. Often, we search for solutions to experiential problems in the world only to realize that the simplest concept has the most significant explanation. There are times when psychology, philosophy, and science neglect parsimony in favor of complex ideas. Empirical evaluations are natural. We process information from various sources, analyze diverse situations, and observe outcomes from theories and experiments. This takes countless hours and invites varying perceptions and opinions of data. Then we must organize and process that information, scrutinizing every detail, further complicating the process

The inherent and monistic nature of virtue can be simplified in one word. Foundationally we may eliminate moral skepticism when we follow this one trait, this one value to the core of our being. When one uses love as the ultimate and final guide for clarity in every decision, we remove all other theories. Replacing reason with love will always direct you on a course that is moral and just. Love is not defined by borders, political background, culture, or religion. Love represents an all-encompassing virtue; it leaves no questions unanswered. Love is the template of the soul that must guide us.

Imagine for a moment the creation of the world up until this juncture. Everything is evolving together in unison. One thing would not exist without the other. We could not breathe air if plants did not create oxygen. There would be no soil without the evolution of fungi. Every person, animal, and living being has an experience that is real and valid. To say otherwise insinuates that we are not all equal participants and contributors in this experiment called life. Considering the exceptional circumstances that have created our existence one must sit back and imagine the importance of each role. Comprehending the enormity of life leaves one astounded that we exist at all. Understanding that we are all one is the first step to realizing that our bond is love.

Moral skepticism is only a factor when unconscious or ignorant behavior drives action. Habitual tendencies are thoughtless and lead to outcomes driven by emotion and evolutionary behaviors. Skeptics observe that action is created by these circumstances of the physical world as well as the condition of the individual’s mind. Physical attributes in the world and our surroundings may contribute not only to our actions but may also be a consequence of other unconscious behaviors within the system. This is an example of one unvirtuous behavior leading to another.

For instance, city officials may create urban wastelands of parking lots, highways, and industrial pollution. Citizens living in these areas may lose interest in the preservation of such spaces. This lack of care may lead to crime, graffiti, and misery for its citizens. Physical properties within the environment generate a negative feedback loop, which may be observed by the moral skeptic.

Reason plays an equally dangerous role in the dismantling of virtue and the cooccurrence of moral skepticism. City officials reason that highways, parking lots, and industry are needed. These urban wastelands in turn create hostile environments that fuel violence, hatred, and poverty. Reason is often driven by egoistic logic. One may reason anything to fit their needs, and it may be argued from many philosophical approaches. Actions to preserve the ego are often disguised as reason, but these actions tend to stem from fear, selfishness, or greed.

One cannot make this mistake with love. If conscious love drove the actions of the citizens, they would not commit these crimes against each other. If love was used as a guide for city planning, we might see art exhibits and gardens in place of urban wastelands. If love were used by either side, both would see the benefit to each other and the benefit to themselves.

Love is innate, functional, and foundational. From birth, we know love, and at death, we know love. We may consciously choose love as our path and direction. It is possible when one puts themselves in another’s position. To use love in this sense is to be that other person, animal, or situation. To remember the oneness that we are and honestly live within them. When one stops and consciously uses love as a guide, only peace and empathy will remain. It is our source of moral perfection. Love is the universal law that unites us. There are no contradictions to real love.
